What is Nylon 6?
Nylon 6 is polyamide 6, also known as Nylon Pa6. The appearance of nylon 6 is similar to Nylon 66 Material, with low melting point and wide processing temperature range. Its impact resistance and dissolution resistance are better than Polyamide Nylon 66, and its moisture absorption is also stronger.
The quality characteristics of plastic parts are basically related to moisture absorption, so this must be considered when designing products with nylon 6. Different modifiers can be added to improve the mechanical properties of nylon 6. It is usually used to add glass fiber to improve the properties of nylon 6. Improved impact resistance is optional to add synthetic rubber. If the nylon 6 product does not contain additives, the shrinkage of its plastic raw materials is about 1.5%. If the shrinkage is reduced to about 0.3%, glass fiber additive can be added. Shrinkage is mainly affected by the hygroscopicity and crystallinity of materials. In fact, the design, wall thickness and process parameters of plastic parts also affect the shrinkage.
